Common questions

• Two-player and single-player are free. No account or login is needed.
• Custom Word Lists (My Words) is a one-time purchase. If it doesn't unlock, tap Restore Purchase on the unlock screen. Still stuck? Email me with your device and what happened, and I'll sort it out.
• My word list disappeared. Lists are saved on your device and are removed if the app is deleted. Reinstalling starts a fresh list.

Happy Hangman is built to be safe and simple, especially for children and classrooms. Here's exactly what the app does and does not do with information.

The short version

• We do not collect your name, email, address, or any account information.
• There are no ads and no advertising trackers.
• The words you type into "My Words" stay on your device.
• The only data involved is what's needed to process the optional one-time purchase.

Information we do not collect

The app has no login, no user accounts, and no advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Custom word lists ("My Words")

Any words you type or paste into My Words are stored locally on your own device so they're there next time you play. They are not uploaded to us, not shared with anyone, and not visible to other users. They are removed if you delete the app.

The optional in-app purchase

The app offers one optional, one-time purchase that unlocks Custom Word Lists. Purchases are handled by Apple and by our purchase provider, RevenueCat, which we use only to confirm and restore purchases.

• Apple processes the payment under your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.
• RevenueCat records anonymous purchase information (for example, that a purchase or restore happened, and a random anonymous identifier) so the app can validate and restore your purchase. This is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

Children's privacy

Happy Hangman is intended to be appropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The optional purchase is protected by an adult ("grown-up") check before it can be started. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

Data retention

Because we don't collect personal information, there's nothing personal for us to retain. Anonymous purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are governed by their respective policies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version at this same address.
